On St. Patrick's day, I was checking my email and saw a groupon offer for Tommymoloneys.com. I believe it was $20 for $40. I had never shopped there but after looking at the site I figured I was comfortable with giving them a try. After all, they advertise a *no hassle guarantee on perishable products*. I looked through the products and thought I was buying chicken and apple sausages that I could grill and eat on a bun because the description was vague and showed sausages on the grill. The second item I chose was corned beef, again the description was vague, it did not state it was uncooked. I also picked up a jar of black currant jam. The shipping was extremely high as well as their prices. I figured I would get a good quality product. UPS did not knock when delivering the package so it was left outside overnight. My husband opened the box and realized the items were not what we thought we were getting. I would have kept the order and just sucked it up but my husband said the sausage had a weird smell and he thought they were bad. I called up and let them know UPS dropped the package off on the side of my porch and didnt knock so it had been left out overnight - I thought they were bad and wasn't comfortable eating the meat part of the order. The woman I spoke to came off as rude immediately. She told me she had to speak to a supervisor and I would get a call back tomorrow morning.
About 8PM the next day, I remembered that they didn't call back so I called and left a voicemail that I had never received a callback. Two days later, I get an email from Liz Mulcahy. Good morning Sarah, Unfortunately we are not responsible for what happened with your order. As our company policy states, all orders are guaranteed to arrive within two days and your order did reach you in the two days. Please see below. (UPS shipping info was below)
So much for a no hassle guarantee. Two phone calls to them, dealing with a rude employee on the phone, a call to groupon, a call to the credit card company is imo a hassle. I am not paying $50 after the $20 groupon discount to end up with a jar of jam. I recommend anyone that chooses to deal with them to call in your order so you can get specs on products because the website FAILS. If you are brave enough to order, I hope you do not have a problem because they will talk down to you on the phone and not fix the problem. There is no way I would ever shop there again. UPS was in the wrong for dropping the package on the side of the porch but it doesn't excuse their lack of customer service and bad attitude.
Sarah
