I have had AHS warranty for a few years. I called and cancelled the contract. When I didn't receive a refund in a few weeks, I called to determine why. I was told that there is a "$35" administrative fee to cancel and that "its in the contract". So basically they charge you to cancel. This is such a corrupt company, where do I begin. When you call for service, its 2 business days before they are obligated to respond. They also will only use the companies they choose which also happen to be the least credible and trustworthy there are.
They find any way they can to avoid replacing things that should be replaced. I had a reputable company do an inspection on my heating/AC and therefore AHS had no choice but to replace that unit. They would only pay part of the claim and deemed the other things as upgrades.in my mind as a consumer, if its broke and needs replacing, you do whatever is needed to fix it under the pretense of a "warranty". I would strongly advise anyone who is looking to avoid using American Home Shield.
