I live in the Houston, TX area and have American Home Shield for more than two years. I have tried to have them repair my A/C system but was told that it was not installed up to the current codes, but it was up to code when it was installed. They would not do any repairs.
In 2008 we had A.M.S. Look at our heater.
Upon examination of the heat exchanger in our gas furnace it was found to have holes in it and needed to be replaced. A.M.S. Told us that the furnace was not installed the the current level of codes again. We had to pay another A/C company to replace our furnace.
In February I tried to cancel service with American Home Shield. After about two months of still being billed by EFT I had to call again. I was put on hold for about fifteen minutes and was finally able to talk to someone who said my contract would be canceled. We will see.
