Ripoff bait & switch on security deposit required for 2 lines lied to us twice

We first signed up with Sprint late March we were told because of our credit situation that we had to put a $125.00 security deposit on one phone. We bought the first phone at Radio Shack, which we were given the information about the deposit required. We were then directed to the Sprint kiosk to purchase the second phone and pay the security deposit.

We had severe service problems with the kiosk purchased phone and we were advised to exchange it after spending 1.5 hours on the phone with Sprint reps.in the tech. Department. We had to drive 1/2 hour just to reach the store to exchange this phone. Once we attempted to exchange the phone, the story changed from Sprint and they wanted to keep the phone over night to diagnose the problem. But we might be issued a refurbished phone to replace the kiosk phone which we thought was new. We were also told that since the $125.00 security deposit was for this phone, the deposite would be returned in 4 - 6 weeks. (8 weeks later we have yet to receive the check)

Now Sprint has contacted us and charged us a $10.00 late fee on our bill because they tried to collect a second deposit on a phone we purchased at Radio Shack the day after returning the bad phone to the Sprint PCS store. Yesterday they threatened to shut off our service because of the amount we owe which includes a second security deposit of $125.00 which they now claim is justified because of our credit status which contradicts the original agreement. I feel that this is considered a classsic "Bait and Switch" tactic that they have used.

Since I am disabled with Asthma and Emphysema and also have two small children in school and a wife that works full time we need feel the phones are a neccesity. We were required to pay to ensure uninterrupted service which would have resulted in even more fees. Has anyone else out there had a simular experience, please let me know through the consumer complaints somehow so we can organize a grass roots class action law suit against the bottom feeders.
