I reside in the state of Maine. I am a former resident of northern NJ.in December I contracted with B&T Movers in Bloomingdale NJ to store the contents of my house. I did all the right things as far as calling the Better Business Bureau, going to see where my things were to be stored, reviewing all contracts, purchasing insurance but still everything went horribly wrong. My monthly storage bill was $480.00 plus $126.00 for extra insurance plus tax.
My things were in storage until April 5, total cost about $28,000. One month ago I contacted B&T to arrange for delivery of my things on April 5. What we thought would be such a great day turned out to be the worst day of our lives. What arrived on that morning was 12,400 lbs of rotting, moldy, putrid dripping wet boxes and furniture. Delivery cost was an additional $5080.00. Fifteen years of our lives gone. All pictures of my child from birth to age 6 gone, all family movies, all family memorabilia, everything we owned 100% gone. I did call them but they will not answer the phone. I have done some research on B&T moving and its owner. I had someone actually go to the site and found out that my things were never even stored there but were actually stored across the street in a warehouse on the river with broken windows and in decrepit conditions.
Although I did have insurance it will never replace the things that we lost. I have hired a public adjustor to represent my interests as my loss was determined to 100%and frankly I am unable at this time to deal with anything. Please spread the word so this never happens to anyone else. Thanks
