I am another victim of Cingular Wireless' fraudulent scheme of collecting non-agreed upon termination fees. I ordered a phone and received it. I read the terms for that phone and signed them. A few months later, I called and ordered another phone for my spouse.
The person did not explain anything about the terms of the second line and sent me the phone within days. I never received any paperwork for this second phone, nor did I agree to another termination fee.in fact, since I was getting one bill for both lines, I assumed they were under the same contract.
When I eventually got sick of their customer service, I decided to cancel. They sent me a bill for double termination fees.
I talked to many reps and explained that I never agreed to a second termination fee and left messages to managers who never called. I paid one termination fee and I tried to talk to the managaers about the second fee that I did not agree to, but they never called.
Eventually, they sent it to a collection agency. That was not enough, one of their reps was ugly enough to call me at work and call me names and making accusations that I am ripping them off!
I sent them a certified letter asking that they never call me again and to communicate only in writing. I also asked for proof that I agreed to second termination fee and threatened legal action. However, I did not get any reply.
I have no problem meeting obligations I agreed to but I cannot give money away for things I did not agree to. Please help!
