It took 4 months to cancel service with cingular wireless. I had 2 phones with 2 numbers; when they finally cancelled my service, they only cancelled 1 number. Both numbers were on the same acct, billed on the same statement.
My agreement was for one year. Cingular said two years. So, they charged me with $150 early termination on the 1st number. When they stopped service on the 2nd phone for nonpayment, an additional $150 fee was added.
Cingular could not provide the copy of the agreement for 2 years, however, I could, & did provide my copy, signed for 1 year... Several times. When I received a letter from a collection agency, I provided copies of everything I had, gave names of everyone I spoke to (along with their i.D. Numbers, dates, & time of day). I included a s.A.S.E. For a reply & the collection agency kept it! So, they now owe me 0.37 for the stamp.
Cingular has harassed me, retained the $77.00 advance payment they received, and the collection agency will not respond. I intend to pursue this with Cingular and the agency that threatened me. I will recover my loss no matter how long it takes. They will be so sick of me before I am finished.
