Ripoff, fraud, rude and hateful!

On December 17th I purchased a photographic lighting set from eBay. Contacted the seller and arrangements for shipping were made. Seller shipped item on 22nd or December and was scheduled for delivery before close on the 24th. Package never showed up. Called UPS and was told that it had been forgotten at the ramp and would be delivered first thing on the 26th since 25th was Christmas Day.

26th came and went without any delivery. Called UPS again and was told it was still sitting at the terminal. They apoligized for the delay and said they would make sure it went out first thing monday.

Monday came and went and still no package. Call UPS again. Went through the entire story with the CSR on the phone and was told that the package was not at the terminal and never at the terminal. Told me I had to have the shipper initiate a trace. I said why can't I start a trace since I am the one who paid for the item and for the shipping. I was told that I basically have no rights whatsoever as the reciever of a package. After arguing for 20 minutes and three supervisors later I gave up and called the shipper back.

Shipper started a trace against the package. Shipper was told that the last place the package was seen was in Tennessee, strange since there tracking never shows the package evr going to tennessee but does show it as being scaned into the terminal here in Richmond, VA.

Called back to UPS to find a status update of the trace. I was bluntly told that they would not discuss any of the details regarding this package with me. Told me to contact the shipper.

Contacted the shipper again. They inturn contacted UPS and was told we are working on it. It takes 7 business days. But since it has been so much of a problem so far they would expidite the trace so it will only take 5 day before the claim forms would be mailed out.

Trace expired and still no claim forms. I called UPS again only top be told basically to get lost and have the shipper call them..

Shipper called UPS again and was told that the claims forms are available online, to fill it out and fax it to the number on the form. The shipper followed the instructions and we waited. UPS Claims Dept. Then contacted me to ask if I really did not recieve the package (they got nerve i must say). Two more weeks went by without any contact from UPS. Once again I called and got the cold shoulder. Asked the shipper to call again.

Shipper called only to find out that yes thay had recieved the claim but now they had lost it. Please filll out another claim form and re-fax it to them and they would get a check out within 5 days. That was a month ago and still no check.

I just called UPS again with all the claims paperwork in hand provided by the seller. Was still told that they would not discuss anything with me. I then asked to be transferred to the claims department and was told that quote "No one in the UPS company has that number" I asked to speak to a manager who also replied quote "No one in the UPS company has that number", I then asked to speak to her manager and was told again quote "No one in the UPS company has that number".

I said well they called me about a month ago about this claim so I assume they have a phone number right? She then said sorry we do not have that number, if they called you then check your Caller ID for a number. I then asked to talk to some sort of executive management for the Customer Service Center and was told they do not take calls from customers. Who the heck do they think pays their salaries?

Here I am not at almost 3 months, without any package or any reimbursment for my lost money, and UPS smiling saying Sorry we cannot talk to or help you. This is BS and I will do everything I can to deter any and all friend, aquaintances, and business contacts to steer away from UPS at all costs. Never have had any of these problems from USPS or FedEx.
