Signed up for the 15 day Trial period to rent audio books on CD. Elected the 6 month option reduced rate of $19.95 per month afterwards. They advertise that you can rent all you want for that monthly fee. I joined on January 4. I later discovered that my credit card had been charged $24.95 (instead of the $19.95 promised on the website). I made several calls and emails to straighten this situation out. The company did not have record of my email selecting the $19.95 discounted rate for 6 month prepayment. Therefore was unwilling to correct the error. They were inflexible and ultimately told me that I was not a fit for their business.

I canceled my membership because they misrepresented themselves. It is not a lot of money, however they were not upfront about it and they are not customer focused.

Essentially, I did not recieve a 15 day FREE trial as their website promises. I got to pay $24.95 to try out the service. The company was unwilling to compromise and refund a partial month (that would have ensured a 15 day FREE trial as the website promises). Their website is misleading and fraudulent. I got screwed. I recieved official notification that my account was closed on February 4. I returned all checked out audio cds.

Below are the comments I sent to the company via email.

1) the company website is misleading

- I signed up for a free 15 day trial and for a monthly rate of $19 for a 6 month period per the website instructions

- I received a charge of $24.95 and no free trial period without any notification that this was going to happen

- this is not what I signed up for

2) website and company are inflexible

- I have spoken to customer service at least 2 times, explaining that if this error was not corrected then I would need to cancel my membership

- each time customer service has been inflexible and unwilling to correct the problem (although they were friendly)

- I was told they have no record or email indicating the membership selection which translates to "the problem is the customer"

- the only choice I have is to cancel since your company is unwilling or unable to do the right thing

3) false advertising

- if I had known that you were not going to allow me to sign up for the 6 month discounted membership (per the website) then I would have never signed up to begin with

- essentially, you did not provide a 15 day free trial period and have charged me $24.95

- $24.95 per month is too expensive for what you offer because there is such a long wait (several days) to receive cds due to mail

- I was only willing to sign up for the discounted rate
