Corporate Controllers Unit
Official Looking Letter is Intentionally Misleading

This scam uses a very official looking seal and rattles off a lot of Colorado legal codes to try and scare a victim into signing up for a completely unnecessary service. The real service they offer is to submit your company's annual filing report for you. However, the service is completely unnecessary since Colorado sends you notices and it could even cause issues if they were to make a mistake. Remember it's your business on the line if they screw up.

I love how the company puts a disclaimer that (bold added)

This product or service has not been approved or endorsed by any Government Agency and this
offer is not being made by an agency of the Government. U.S.C.
39.6.3001 (d) This is a solicitation for the order of services, and not a bill, invoice or statement of account due. You are under no obligation to make any payments on account of this offer.

By the way Corporate Controllers Unit, it's U.S.C. 39.4.3001 (d) that you should be referencing not 39.6 (which doesn't even exist!). For the intern at CCU the roman numerals are: IV = 4, VI = 6, there is no part 6 of Title 39.

Bottom line is that this company is using an intentionally deceptive letters to con people into paying them $225/year for something that costs $10 and takes about as much time to handle.
