Mark lawrence This company promised me a loan modification of a complete refund instead I am in foreclosure and responsible for thousands of dollars

I first contacted this company in June. My mortgage payments were very high and the interest only loan had just expired and raised my payment considerably. I was not behind in my payments. This company Mark Lawrence said I was eligible for a loan modification and that I should stop making my mortgage payments. I did all of the above, shortly there after I was sent a collection notice on my second mortgage. When I contacted my attorney they said this was part of the process. They would arrange a payment schedule for me. On a 58,000 loan I paid 12,000 to the bank and was supposed to be excused the difference. Brett Margolin's office told me this was the first step in the modification process. So the money I did not pay my montly payments with went to payoff the second mortgage. I had already paid the Brett Margolin law firm almost 5000 dollars. Next I was sent to collection and almost had my salary garnishered for the HELOC. At the time this happend the law firm of Brett Margolin told me this also was the result they were looking for. I am now doubtful but in big financial trouble so I listened. I made a deal with the HELOC firm and they removed the lein on my home and I became personally responsible for the 45000 dollars we owed them. I paid $2100.00 down and $500 a month for probably life. I was told that now the bank would be willing to negotiate the primary loan. So untrue I was told if I did not come up with the 79,000 dollars in back payments they would foreclose.

So now I have paid thousands of dollars and find out from my bank that they do not offer modifications and that HELOC's are never covered in such a transaction. I now pay all of this money and have no home. I contacted the law office of Brett Margolin expecting my full refund which I needed to relocate. They told me that my case was one of the success cases and that they considered it a job well done. All I can say is that they lied and basically stole my money. Please if you are considering a loan modification deal with you bank directly. I was told by Brett Margolin and associates not to speak with anyone from my mortage company that they would be lying to me. If it seems to good to be true it probably is.
