Deceptive practices, Lack of "care" in Customer Care, in event of contract cancellation the provider still makes money from customer

I hope this is the place to express my dissatisfaction with Dish Network. I feel they were nice until the contract was signed. After that point in time, the customer care went out the window. First dig was having to pay $100 to move less than a mile and within 6 months of start of contract. I now have 13 months left in my contract with a cancelation fee of $227.50.

The other night I wanted to rent a PPV movie and called the customer service number on the channel of the movie. First off, I spent 60 minutes on the phone dealing with the fact that Dish Network claims I am on a pre-paid service and required a payment of $4.99 with a credit card before the movie could start. I refused and the result was the woman waived all fees and started the movie for me. I fell asleep a little into the movie and the following morning, started the movie on the same channel and after 5 minutes, the movie cut off.

A second time, I called customer service (this time a 45 minute call). This time I argued that it was a 24 hour rental and I should not have to even call in again to see the rest of the movie, mind you this was 8 hours from the time the movie originally started. Then I had to wait 1 1/2 hours until it started again.

Then I get an e-mail stating "thank you for your Dish Network payment of $4.99." This time I was wanting answers. I called back yet again, (for another 60 minute phone call), only to explain my situation to 2 different representatives before reaching a manager. This supervisor offered me a $5 credit per month for a period of 6 months, then, without saying anything more, the phone hung up!

I immediately called back, explaining my situation to another representative before getting another supervisor. This supervisor told me that the only thing warranted would be a credit for $5 per month for 3 months since I refused the offer for a 6 month credit! I told him I was hung up on, not refusing the offer. This supervisor then told me he was going to put me on hold and check something in his system when I heard my phone beep again notifying me that the call had been disconnected. (45 minute call)

Despite my lack of head-way with this company, I called back again for the next representative only to tell me that I have refused all offers and there was literally nothing they could offer me to relieve this situation.

At that point, I asked for a website or phone number to express my frustration with the company and the woman tells me: "oh absolutely, go to www.dishnetwork.com/feedback and someone will respond to your inquiry very soon after. Whether it be by phone or e-mail." And wouldn't you know it, the site says "temporarily down for maintenance"

This is the next best site in my mind to smear this companies profile. I wish I could stop someone from signing this contract with this company. I can't describe enough how disappointed I am with myself for getting into a binding agreement with this company. I feel that they do not care, or are not capable of making their customers content with their decision of choosing Dish Network. They need not worry about their customers' satisfaction since the customers' signature is already on paper and they do not need to make the customer happy because they are in a binding contract.

Please, someone read this and purchase. Something, anything, please just do not sign with Dish Network

Sorry, …allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company. Plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
