Just when you thought you had a good deal you realize you were ripped-off. These door knockers come to your door and claim that they are there to protect your family then go on to tell you that there have been recent break-in in your area and that you should protect your home. They offer you a free Alarm system that includes front door back door and motion detecors and claim that this is all you need to have peace of mind. What they fail to tell you is that unless you contact every window in your home you are not protecting your family your only protecting your belongings. MOTION DETECTORS CAN NOT BE ON WHILE YOU ARE HOME!!! SO how can you tell me you want to protect my family when stats show that most home invations happen at night when your at home and very rarely do they break in the front door. The Reason I write this is to inform you that my home was broken into while i was sleeping and they came in from a window. I never knew they were even there till they opend the front door to run out and it was too late! So not only does my alarm not work for me while im home but Im stuck paying 40.00 bucks per month for the next 3 years or they can ruin my credit.
Things to check and ask before signing a cotract with this company.
1) If they tell you that there have been break-ins in your area CONFIRM IT WITH LOCAL LAW INFORCMENT! And do it while the door knocker is at your door. This way if he or she is giving you false information you can tell them that you will notify everyone you know to put a stop to there scam.
2) Tell them you want every door and window contacted for the same free offer. If its really free they should not mind one bit.
3) always tell them you will think about it. Dont rush into it. Do research and make sure you are not being ripped off.
4) Dont deal with these small ind sales people. Go with well known companies like ADT, Brinks, or Monitronics. XCELL is a monitronics dealer but you would be better off calling monitronics directly and deal with them.
5) most important, If your having problems with this company Notify Monitronics and let them know you are not happy!!!
