I signed up with DirectTv in February. I was not told by sales rep that he was signing me up for 3 years. I did not sign anything agreeing to a 3 year contract.
I called customer service in January for service on a DVR that had stopped working. The customer service rep advised me I would have to pay for service to fix it. I decided to change vendors.
After I contracted with another vendor, a service rep at DirectTv told me service is free on the first service call of the year.
After I cancelled service, they sent me a bill for $244 cancellation fee for canceling before 3 years. I dont owe this amount. They have sent my account to a collections agency. That doesnt change the fact that I dont owe this amount.
