I called safe touch security to come in and install a wireless security system into my home. I did not want monthly payments, so I paid for the system up front. It was supposed to come with 3 years of monitoring. After 3 years, I start getting a monthly bill, so I called up and said I want to cancel, I did not have the system even in my home any more after a remodel. An aside, the wireless never worked well for me, so I had the contractors pull it out when I added onto the back of my home. I was in for a shock, customer service transferred me to a woman named Carrie Gabriel. I will never forget, she had me in tears, she was just mean. I went ahead and paid the additional 2 years and told them to cancel. I even called the guy who sold me the system, Joe and he told me that no, it should have been like I told you, only 3 years. The contract was ambiguous, so I probably could have fought it more, but I don't need all that stress. Between cell companies and satellite companies, alarm companies, etc - my experience has been the longer the contract, the worse the service. If they are planning to make you happy with their service, they wouldn't need a contract.
The president of this company constantly runs commercials trying to come off as a nice and decent guy. I can see where people fall for it all of the time, but I would say in this case, things aren't what they seem.
