You can have your couch (steam) cleaned for $23 - great deal! Oh hold up, your couch material can't be steam cleaned because "it will bleed." So, it needs to be shampoo'd/sanitized/deodorized... And that'll be $85 per couch. This according to the KleenDry cleaner guy.
Umm, yeah, no way buddy. "Oh, ok, well how much were you looking to spend?" I tell him, not a $170 (2 couches)!!! I told him the most I would pay is $110."Ok, sir, let me call my boss to ask him" So he comes back to say the boss will meet in the middle at $140. Again, I'm not paying $140. I finally told him to forget cleaning the skirt around the couch then, and do it for $100. He agreed. It's too bad I was distracted by my kids as I wasn't able to really watch him - but I can assure you that I didn't get a separate shampoo/sanitize/deodorize treatment as he made it out. It was an all-in-one treatment.
In hindsight, I don't believe there's even a difference between a "steam clean" that they advertise and the shampoo treatment that I got. I think it's one in the same - same machine, same process. They just use the steam clean in the ad so that they can claim it will cause your fabric to bleed, therefore it needs to be shampoo'd/etc/etc... And that'll be 3-5x more in cost.
Obviously, pricing is negotiable - so haggle away!
