WalMart
Long Lines

I was at WalMart twice within the last week. Both times I had 3-4 items in my hands. The self help registers have been eliminated so I chose the 20 or less "speedy" line. Both times there was someone at the front of the line with a state voucher for items that the cashier was not familar with. She had to call the Asst. Mgr. To answer questions while we all stood there thinking we we going to get "speedy" service.
On my last visit I said something to the cashier who happened to be an Asst. Mgr. She did not want to hear what I had to say and shoved my bag at me and said "thank you", ignoring my question about where to go to lodge a complaint about the slow service.
There are 32 cash registers set up at the front of the store and more then half of them are never used. That is ludicrous, they'll never staff the store with 32 cashiers on a shift. What's the point? For visual effect? I told the Asst. Mgr. I would like to see the self help registers reopen. She said that will never happen because it took up too much of the staff's time to resolve issues when they didn't work properly. From my own experience I got through the line much faster.
In addition, the new store set is not user friendly. The card department is completely on the other side of the store from the pharmacy. Many elderly buy cards while they wait for their prescriptions and now must travel a distance with their walkers, wheel chairs, etc.
I like WalMart less today and am seriously considering not shopping at the store in the future.
