I do the bulk of my weekly grocery shopping at WalMart SuperCenter. I almost always go sometime after 11pm. There are lots of employees on the floor stocking, but there are very few employees on the floor for customer assistance. I stood in the electronics department for over 15 minutes and not one single employee was there to help me. I asked one of the stockers if he could ask someone to help and he said it would be hard to find someone at this time. Well, I just went on with the rest of my shopping and got up to the front to check out. There were 2 registers open but only one of them had a clerk at the register. The other lane had its light on, but nobody was there to ring me out. The line for the 1 clerk was 5 people deep, and 3 of those people had very large orders. The clerk continued to page/call for someone to come up front to assist. Finally his 'Manager' came out of hiding and helped him out. This is not the first time either - pretty much every week I end up standing in a long line because there is only 1 register open. If you are open 24 hrs and people shop at all hours of the day you need to have more employees to staff your departments and registers. At our local Target, if you need help/assistance, you can go to a few places in the store and press a button and someone will talk to you and send a person to you — WalMart should have something like that. I like Walmart's prices but I wouldn't mind paying a penny or two more for them to have enough people to help.
