On 6/14 Menards nationally advertised the Quick Set Pool (279-5519) for $16.96. When I got to the store, there were flyers everywhere stating that the ad was incorrect, the correct ad price for this pool was $48.88.
The manager refused to honor the print ad. Period. He also refused to give me something in writing saying that he refused to honor the ad. But he did give me a copy of the flyer stating the ad was incorrect.
While I'm sympathetic that a mistake was made, it was not MY mistake. It was theirs. And rather than just give me the lower price to avoid bad press, possible false advertising charges and fines, Menards chose to charge me the higher price.
False advertising is serious business! Mistakes or no.
