We just received our monthly Verizon bill and it contains unsolicited charges for services (Online Business Association Mo Svc Fee) from ESBI. Upon calling ESBI I was told that a ESBI representative had spoken with a team member at our location and that he authorized the ESBI services.
When I spoke with this team member, he said that the ESBI representative had presented herself either as a Verizon or Yellow Pages representative and was simply confirming information. Nothing was mentioned concerning a service which would result in additional billing.
I contacted ESBI again and requested that whatever service they were providing be canceled. The representative assured me that their records would show that the service is canceled, that a credit would be forthcoming and provided me a confirmation number.
I am further following up with Verizon.
Word of advice, train your team members to REFUSE all unsolicited telephone calls!
