I discovered an unauthorized charge on my Chase Master Card statement today for a "long distance savings plan". When I called the number provided, the company was closed but I got the name, Direct One, and decided to check it out on the internet. Imagine my surprise when I came across Usa Consumer Complaints.com!
I immediately called Chase and the customer service rep was very happy to remove the charge, a little TOO happy to do it. I told her what I found out about the company and she told me she was surprised because Direct One is a vendor that is affiliated with Chase! I suppose that's how they got my card number.
I told her I was very uncomfortable after everything I was reading about Direct One and that I was concerned they may try to charge me multiple times. I guess I'll just have to keep a close eye on my statements. It certainly makes me question Chase's judgement in their selection of vendors.
