Nationwide home warranty co. Will find a way to deny a claim. The number one reason, as you can see by complaints on the internet, is that NW denys due to the homeowner not having MAINTENANCE RECORDS on the items that have broken down and that NW has supposedly insured. Home Warranties are generally purchased at the closing of a home purchase.

NW denied my claim for repair due to not having maintenance records and told me to contract the sellers. This is ridiculous and impossible.

In reading the contract, there is no requirement that maintenance records be provided in order to approve a claim. It merely states that Nationwide may request maintenance records. If and when no maintenance is performed, there exist no maintenance records. I could not produce something that does not exist. They still would not approve the claim. Microwave needed repaired, I asked them what maintenance is required. They replied stating it was the policy and to read the contract, obviously, not answering my question.

In my opinion, this company has engaged in fraudulent and misleading business activites and should be in violation of the Uniform Commercial Code and other State Consumer Protection Laws.

NW will not give the telephone number of the corporation and said that I could not take this issue any further. They continuously put me on hold and several times disconnected me. Renee Jackson said she was the manager and I can't talk with anyone else. Finally, another day, I asked for a manager and I got the other so-called customer service rep. I asked how many managers does your department have and she replied that they are all manager. Ridiculous!

Section 15 of page 6 of the contract states that any disputes resulting from this agreement shall be construed and enforced by laws of New York State.in my opinion, this company's goals are to sell as many policys as possible and to deny all claims. They put this paragraph in the contract knowing that the majority of people will not fly to NW. This company sells across the US and should complaints should be arbitrated in the state where the policy was purchased.

Complaints are all over the internet, BBB, consumer affairs etc. I am not the only dissatisfied client. I searched other home warranty companies and it seems they have similar complaints due to clients not producting maintenance records. These companies are deceptive, misleading. They prey on homeowners, knowing they will want a warranty, charge them approx.$500. AND THEN NEVER PAY A CLAIM!

I hope every atty general across the U.S. Review this company, along with others that are denying claims due to "no maintenance records". No one can produce something they don't have and these companies know it.
These companies are deceptive, misleading and fraudlent as it's best!!!
