I reported a claim to NATIONWIDE HOME WARRANTY to fix my Air Conditioner that suddenly stopped working at my rental property, 15 days AFTER the effective date of my contract. I was immediately charged the $60 co-pay and heard nothing from them until I made several calls and finally by the end of the day they sent a contractor to inspect the A/C Unit. The A/C unit's compressor was broken. The contractor called me to let me know the diagnosis and said that the unit needed a new compressor. I never heard from Nationwide. Only until after I phoned them did they tell me that they needed records of maintenance on the A/C unit before they would determine if the A/C unit was covered because the contractor indicated that the unit was a preexisting condition and my contract had only been in effect 15 days. I spoke with the contractor who told me that the unit broke and it was of natural causes and that the only thing reported to Nationwide was that the condensor needed replacing. I then asked Nationwide to email me a copy of the report and they refused. The employees of Nationwide were the rudest people I ever spoke to. Customer Service was horrific. I stayed on hold for 10 minutes and more everytime I called and my calls were disconnected each time when I had to call back. Even after sending them records of maintenance they refused to cover the repair. I paid nearly $400 for this warranty service who will not honor their contract. Avoid them at all costs!!!
