I had the worst moving experience with A.Y. Transport. When they took my payment and deposit, they assured me that they had a truck in New Orleans. After taking my deposit, they continued to assure me that they could move it on the days.
When I made a special trip to New Orleans for the move, they (Ronny and another person) continued to assure me that move was on time. The day came, movers didn't. Then, I was informed that a truck was coming from Florida and it was a day late.
The next day came, movers didn't show-up. Amin said that the truck was still on the way. I reminded him again of the deadlines I had. The day after, the truck was to be there 'any minute.' I was home the entire day... No truck, no movers.
I was supposed to fly back the next day, I had to change tickets. $200 in penalties. The next day came, NO movers showed-up.
I had to clear my apartment and movers had not showed-up. I was sitting with completely packed stuff - WITHOUT MOVERS - for days! My friends were helping me get stuff to eat and were witness to this horrible ordeal.
These movers not only cheated me by not showing-up and costing me a bundle in expenses, they didn't even have the courage to tell me that they were not showing-up.
Them not showing-up cost me my rental deposit, all of my furniture AND a change fee to my airline ticket. I had to buy new furniture AGAIN after my move.
This is just a horrible company to deal with. If you have even one other choice, please do yourself a favour and go with the other. After all the pain and costs, I could have paid someone a thousand dollars more than what these people quoted and still have come ahead. They continued to lie to me three days AFTER they were supposed to have moved my things.
I finally had to ship things via US postal service and give away all of my furniture. They are truly the worst. After giving Better Business Bureau complaint, they refunded my deposit - but they were not going to reimburse me for any of the money I lost because of them.
They may change names or company address, but these people should never be allowed to do the same thing to others. If I have to sue them, I will have to file a case in Northern California. If they re-schedule the date after more expenses, they realize that I would just get more screwed by them.
