I contracted with Capital Van Lines Moving Company to move my furniture on July 2. I was given a quote of $580 (moving cost) 80 (packing materials). I was informed during that time a truck would be sent that would be large enough to move my belonging all in one trip. Unfortunately, on the day of the move the truck already contained someone else’s belongings which filled 1/4 of the truck. The movers informed me that I would not be charged for a two trip move due to the contents already contained in the truck. When we reached the storage facility for which my belongings were to be delivered and the movers began to unload the truck, one of the movers indicated that I would need to pay the entire amount of the moving cost of $1,100 (cash) in order for them to continue unload my belongings. When I informed the movers that I would not pay until all my items in the truck as well as the items that were still in my home were moved and unloaded, he ordered the other movers to stop unloading. He suggested that I call the main office and speak with his supervisor. I called the supervisor and I told him what was going on. He told me I had to pay the movers and he was too busy to deal with this situation and hung up the phone.
This company strong arms its customers and provides horrible customer services and totally lacks people skills.in all my years of dealing with business I must say this has been the worst of the worst experiences.
