On Aug. 25,1996 I purchased two batteries from the WalMart store at Chester Illinois. My van requires two batteries. These batteries carried a 7 year (84 month) warranty.
In December I noticed that these batteries were getting weak.By January they became unreliable to the point that I could not rely on them to start my van.
On January 30 I went to WalMart and purchased 2 new batteries. A couple of days later I installed them in the van.
It was then that I noticed that the old batteries had an 84 month warranty.
The next day I returned the batteries along with my paperwork regarding their purchase. When I asked about the warranty I was told that it had expired.
The clerk would not even listen to me when I tried to explain that it was almost 7 months until I would actually have had them for 84 months.
I was not expecting to recieve a very significant adjustment. I do, however, feel that if a company is going to give an 84 month warranty then it should be a full 84 month warranty. Not something less.
