On June 22 I purchase a new Everstart battery for my wave runner from Walmart. The cost was $43. When I asked about the warranty, the clerk told me it had a 12 month warranty. Last week I tried to start the wave runner and the battery was dead.
The battery would not take a charge so I took it back to Walmart along with my receipt. When I told the clerk I had a defective battery, the clerk took the receipt and then looked at the battery and said "I'm sorry, those only have a 6 month warranty", wadded up the receipt and threw it away.
This wave runner was kept garaged the entire time. The previous battery (which was NOT an Everstart) lasted over 3 years. It was determined that this battery has a dead cell yet Walmart refuses to stand behind their defective product.
I had noticed over the last few years that the deep cycle Everstart batteries we've purchased for our boats seem to go bad faster and their "prorated" replacement is lousy. We will not be purchasing any Everstart batteries in the future.
