"ONE DAY" before the ENDING billing cycle, I was back billed with the new plan but old phone number and
My son had a digital one rate plan of $59.99 a month with no charges for roaming or long distance. Since he was in the military he got a Florida number but we live in Louisiana. Everything was fine until he moved back to Louisiana, he called ATT on 12/10/02 to have his plan changed to a cheaper plan.
They finally put him on the $39.99 plan which was local but he still had his Florida number so he called back on the same day (within a few minutes) to change his number to a Louisiana number.
My son not knowing (just turned 20) that he was ONE DAY from his ending billing cycle did not know they would bill him on this new plan from the BEGINNING of his billing cycle which was 11/12/02. HOW CAN THEY DO THAT!!!
He called to change the plan on 12/10/02 and they bill him from the beginning 11/12 on the new plan BUT WITH THE OLD NUMBER which resulted in $593.25 in roaming and long distance charges. THESE PEOPLE ARE CRAZY!
The new plan should start on the day he called to have his plan changed along with his new local number!!!
I have talked to 3 service Reps and they are no help at all, THEY SAY HE AGREED TO HAVE HIS BILL PRORATED LIKE THAT!
Who would KNOWINGLY agree to be back billed on a local plan but with your old long distance number!!! We will never do bisiness with ATT again!!! ATT Wireless are scam artist!!!
