We had a company account with Verizon Wireless for over a year. We were dropping tons of calls and we were having other network related problems for months. We called customer service a number of times and reported each and every incident. We finally decided to cancel our service but we first wanted to make sure that we would be released from all obligations to our contract.
We called and spoke with a manager and we were told that since we were unhappy with the service and since there was record of us calling in so many times that we would be released from the contract without penalty. When we finally cancelled and moved to T-Mobile we began receiving phone calls from Verizon - they wanted us to pay a cancellation penalty or... Return to Verizon.
We told them that we had cleared our cancellation with management and we were told that the fees would be waved. They said that there was no record of that phone call. We asked to speak with managment again and that's when they told us that there was no record of us ever calling in to report service problems.
They also told us that there was no record of us speaking with management about waiving cancellation fees. So now we are getting daily phone calls and letters from Verizon asking us to pay the fees or return to Verizon. I'd rather use my old beeper from 1992.
