I purchased a background report last month (April 4) from Intellus because I was trying to locate a friend that I lost contact with to inform him of the death of a fellow firefighter and friend.
The report I purchased did not give me the information I needed and immediately sent an e-mail to cancel and requested a refund. I did not get a response. I figured for such a minimal charge, it was no big deal.
Well, now 2 months later I have been charged $19.95 for something from Privacy Matters that I did NOT purchase. Of course, it's the weekend and I cannot reach the company nor my bank.
I have sent my bank an e-mail requesting the fraudulent charges to be denied and I plan on calling Monday morning the 888 number listed on my statement.
