Charged our debit card w/o authorization claiming we requested a credit report... Omaha Nebraska

Charges appeared on our bank statement in May. After calling our bank they informed us that it was PRIVACY MATTERS and gave us the phone number to call. When I called they informed me that someone requested a credit report for my husband and charged it to HIS debit card.

I informed the person that was impossible because my husband is deployed in Iraq and didnt have the ability to do this on the internet. She confirmed our address and stated we received a copy of the credit report. I informed her that I DID NOT receive any such report nor did EITHER OF US attempt to get one.

She stated that they could only credit one @29.95 fee back to our card. I informed her that they charge us three $29.95 fees, five $1.00 fees and caused $380 worth of overdraft/returned check fees. After much complaining on my end she informed me that I would have to send bank statements, returned checks statement and poa paperwork. I faxed all required documents plus included a copy of a identity theft report from our local police dept proving that I FROZE his credit in January (he had some checks stolen by family members).
About 2 weeks later I receive a denial letter from Privacy Matters stating they would not be refunding us the OD fees due to we purchased a credit report. I IMMEDIATELY called them and left a voicemail as no one answered. About 7 hours later I receive a call from Privacy Matters (Christina) and she stated that they would NOT refund the additional charges or overdraft fees. I asked to speak to the main supervisor and she said that was here.

I called our jag officers for the military who informed me to contact the BBB first. I then emailed Privacy Matters Corporate office (same usual response-I requested the credit report.) They were HELPLESS with this matter.

I then contacted the media in Omaha Nebraska who informed me that this is a VERY COMMON PRACTICE OF PRIVACY MATTERS. She informed to look up this website.
