WARRANTY FRAUD — read the small print!

We have a Kenmore water heater purchased through Sears—we purchased an extended warranty, which we are still under.

We needed a part replaced on our waterheater. Under our extended warranty from Sears, parts are free. Here's the catch... A sears technician has to be dispatched to decide what is wrong. Then, another technician must be dispatched with the part to put it in. YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR BOTH VISITS!

The price of the PART was UNDER $60. The price of one visit is over $60. It would cost me twice as much to use my warranty as it did to order and install the part myself.

BOTTOM LINE: The warranty is a scam. Don't bother purchasing a warranty through SEARS—it will cost you for the warranty and IT WILL COST YOU AGAIN to use the warranty. What a scam!
