I bought a Kenmore Power Miser 9 50 gallon gas Water Heater from Sears in December. The product has a 9 year warranty on parts. But in order to get the free parts under the warranty you have to use Sears' Technician and pay them to inspect your product before they give you the free parts under warranty. The only problem is that they cannot get to you for 2 to 3 weeks, when you can get a local licensed plumber to come today to fix the product. So the Sears scheme is that you can get free warranty parts but you have to pay for their service technician to stop by and order the warrantied part after waiting 2 to 3 weeks. Not bad if you like ice cold water to bathe in, or do the dishes or for any other purpose that you woould need hot water. Sears service sucks and they do not honor their warranty.
My hope is that everyone gets to read this complaint and stops buying appliances from Sears.
