Sears Warranty - Samsung LCD TV

I purchased a 40" Samsung LCD TV from Sears in December with a 3 year extended warranty. I have used the TV continuously since then and was very happy with the product till a month ago when the TV pedestal included with the unit shattered and dumped my TV onto the floor from a 4 ft height. This is obviously a manufacturing defect, but since I have an extended 3 year warranty with Sears and I am outside the 1 year Samsung product warranty, I contacted Sears customer service for support. I have been on the phone repeatedly with Sears staff and I have even had a repair technician visit my home to confirm it was not a case of faulty installation or mishandling and purely due to faulty product. After jumping through all these hoops I am now being told that my Warranty does not cover the TV pedestal that was sold and packaged with the TV!

I purchased the warranty under the impression that it covered the entirety of the Samsung product I purchased (the TV and the pedestal were both packaged and included in the same box). This is very misleading and extremely unfair. When I purchased the unit I was never informed by anyone at Sears that the warranty would only cover one specific item in the box! If this is truly the case Sears should state very clearly to customers at the very outset that only certain specific items they purchase will be included in their extended warranty.

I am very unhappy with the response I have received from Sears.
