He should consider himself lucky he was not ripped off by more than what he was. I along with a handfull of Appraisers were duped by this crook too. He had hired us to do appraisals and after we did the appraisals, never sent us the fee. I personally believed he would send the fee I charged him after he gained my confidence by paying for 3 reports in advance. He then ordered 10 more & promised to send the payment as soon as he received the report. HE NEVER DID!
Fortunately, due to his unprofessional conduct & with the help of those appraisers ripped off. John Ruff had his license to appraise suspended by the VA Dept. Of Professional Regulations. I have been awarded judgements in the amount of over $5000.00 by the courts, but will probably never see a dime this crook stole from me. He made the Appraisal Industry look bad and gave honest appraisers a bad name. I would stay clear of this rip off artist as he is very arrogant and thinks he can get away with being a crook.
