Wear spots began appearing on our leather recliner when it was only six weeks old. A company rep. Came to the house and made the statement that La-Z-Boy was going to have to address this issue. (There were previous similar complaints). The five-year warranty did not cover this type of discoloration. The store said they were not authorized to cover repairs or replacement, in spite of the fact that we had spent close to $10,000 with them during the previous year. I registered the complaint with the NC Attorney General's office, who wrote them a letter on our behalf. Calls made to the home office were unsuccessful, and the employees were rude. It's been three years now, and the discoloration on the arms has continued to expand and lighten to the point that it now looks almost white against the brown of the leather. The seat is also beginning to show more signs of the same discoloration. The warranty is worthless, and we would advise against purchasing it. The chair looks terrible, and was certainly not worth what we paid for it. La-Z-Boy is a wealthy company and has purchased several well-known brands. Obviously they will continue to rely on their size and volume instead of their customer service. They should stand behind their products.
