I received a charge on my credit card from S.E. F publishers back in Novermber 2007. I was very unfamiliar with the charge and didn't remember authorizing a charge to my credit card for $33. During this time my credit card came up missing so I assumed I had some fraudelent activity going on and immediately contacted my credit card company and disputed the charge. Due to know response from S.E. F my credit card company reversed the charge and sent me a new credit card.
I then started receiving monthly invoices from S.E. F Publisher and collection calls stating I owed them $77. I notified them on several occassions I did not authorize this charge and never received any product from them so I should not be receiving bills and that it's possible that their was some fraudelent charges on my credit card and that my card company reversed the charges. They claimed they were going to note it and apologized for the mix up.
About 3 weeks later I receive a call from a (941) phone number about the situation, I again gave this guy the same information and he told me I needed to speak with Judy and to call (941) 301-6862. Before I could call the number she was calling me screaming at me refusing to let me get a word in edge wise. Claiming I was commiting fraud and that she had all my personal information and that if I did not pay them she would contact my local police department and file a complaint against me and have me locked up. I tried to tell her that this charge was unfamiliar to me but before I could she hung up in my face!
So I called the number back and asked to speak to her again (the person who answered the phone was very unprofessional he just answered the phone with a "hello" didn't identify himself or the company, it was like calling a residence) She got on the phone and I again attempted to explain to her the situation, she said well we recorded your conversation when you authorized the charge so I told her play it she said "I'm not playing shit I have all the information I need from you to prove that you committed fraud" and hung up again.
I called a 3rd time and told the man who answered the phone, "tell Judy that I've never received any product from you guys all I've received were bills. If you have a signature from me or a voice recording play it or send it and we can resolve this issue if not then leave me alone". He claimed he would relay the message and that was it... I thought.
She then calls me a week later with a sarcastic gentleness claiming that she believed that I did not receive their product and that they noticed that they sent the welcome package which included a $1000 shopping spree and $40 gas card and that it was never returned. She then asked for my address and information so they could send it again. I told her "no" why are you acting friendly all of a sudden I told you I did not authorize this charge and do not want your product and how do I know that your for real. I told her just play the tape and if it's me I'll settle the debt but when I refused to give her my address, then the real Judy came out! She said well I'm just trying to keep your dumb ass out of jail and we will be suing you in April for fraud and hung up on me again!
I've since filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and have noticed other complaints about this company. These people are very rude and seem not to be very reputable do not do business with these folks. If you see an unfamiliar number pop up with a (941) area code ignore the call it might just be a scam.
