Ought a jvc 56" screen tv oct 2 paid 1650 for the tv and then got the extended warranty. Check lamp light came on in dec i call the home service center and they made a claim for ny tv to be picked up. Olive's which is on there service plan couldn't get to it until close to xmas so we waited until after the holiday, they pick up my tv about 3-4 weeks ago. Never heard from them until i called them march the 17 2008. The only thing that olives would tell me that it was going to cost me 3700 to get it fix that the warranty wasn't going to pay. I ask them why and they told me that i had to call the home service center. Keep in mind that i live in douglas georgia and the only place they would send my tv was in madison fl. I call the cent and spoke with several different people they told me that the tech said waht was wrong was dirt and residure and that jvc said it was abuse. The factory warranty was out on the tv. I have wood and tile floors and in there plan it states that it covers (THIS PLAN PROVIDES COVAGE FOR PRODUCT FAILURE DUE TO DUST, INTERNAL HEAT, INTERNAL HUMIDITY/CONDENSATION ANS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR) the custmoer service put in for a replacement.in meantime i called olive tv repair and told them that i have ask for a replacement. This was all done on march 18 well that afternoon best buy calld olive repair and now it because of me smoking and said that it was tar that cause this. They change the whoke thing first it was dirt and no it for me smoking. It dosen't say anything about smoking. If its not going to be cover then before someone get the extended warranty it should be told that if you smoke then the service contract isn't a good investment. So here i an stuck without a tv and with $2100 out the window. I think that there is so much fuss about smoking thats this is away out of soing what the contract states. I have talk to other tv repair people and they tell me that this is not possible. I am needing help and i know that i am not the only one that they have sone this way. I am one person and they are a big company and they think that there word is set in gold. This is not fair all i have ask them to please replace my tv cause. What else can i do
