Help! I'm not even a DishNetwork Customer and they won't stop calling me!

I have never had an account with DishNetwork, but have been receiving calls from them since I moved to Southern Oregon in 2004. I've spoken to many, many people at DishNetwork's customer service and finally e-mailed this message to FeedBack@customermail. Dishnetwork.com on 2/2:

I have been receiving numerous calls about my Dish Network account. I do not have a Dish Network account, I have never had a Dish Network account, and I don't want a Dish Network account. Evidently, you have my phone number associated with someone elses account. I have placed numerous calls to 1-800 333-DISH and spoken to over 10 people and 2 supervisors who assure me every time that the problem has been taken care of, yet I still receive calls every week. One supervisor told me to contact the phone company. That they had issued the same phone number to 2 different people.

As ridiculous as that sounded, I did. They assured me that I was the only name with that phone number listed. During one call, a customer service person told me the name on the account and that the account was established in 1999. I have had this phone number since July. I was told by another customer service person that I needed to call the phone company and find a correct phone number for this person. I did that and was told the phone number was unlisted. I don't know why it is my job to find this person when it is not even my account but I've been searching. I've found out what high school he attended and year he graduated. I found the city where he grew up and where he started his DishNetwork service.

I located and contacted a relative of his who told me that "Sam" moved to Texas 2 years ago, but that he'd contact his mother for me. I located his address in Texas. I have also sent an e-mail through the "Superior Customer Service" e-mail link and have had no response to my problem. I log every call I receive - sometimes 3 times in one night - and file complaints after each call with donotcall. Gov and still the calls keep coming. I've spoken to Dan, Jackie, Josh, Joyce, Amy, Ed, Dominick and Katie who each have told me that they have corrected the problem, yet the calls keep coming. Short of getting in my car and driving to Texas, I'm now lost on what to do next. Someone, somewhere must have the solution to my problem. Please forward this to that person.

This is the response I received:

Thank you for your email. We are sorry for any inconvenience and we do understand how frustrating this might be. We have noted the account on several occasions and when the customer will contact us regarding his account we will request his new telephone and remove the current telephone number. All account with us do require at least one phone number and once we get hold of the customer we will remove this phone number. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Your business is greatly appreciated and we thank you for allowing us to be of assistance to you. If you have any further questions or concerns, please refer to www.dishnetwork.com or reply to this email.

I did reply back with the following e-mail:

Mike,

No, you do not understand how frustrating this might be. You are not the one who is continuing to be hounded by a company they have no business relationship with. I know the account has been noted on several occasions yet the calls keep coming. As far as this policy of all accounts requiring at least one phone number, the number you have for this account is mine. It is not my account and I want my number taken off and not associated with this account. I don't understand why I have to wait for your customer to contact you to get relief for being hassled by you on a weekly, sometimes daily basis. This seems like really poor customer service on your part. I have researched this person on the internet and given you all the information I can about him. Does he still have your equipment? Is he still receiving service in Texas? How long has it been since he's paid his overdue bill? My parents do have an account with Dish Network. I have told them of my frustration with this company who cannot understand or fix my problem. I am now ready to go to my local paper with a letter to find out how many other people are having a problem with Dish. Every phone number I call for Dish routes me back to the same call centers that cannot fix my problem. Really, really poor customer service for someone who is not your customer and through this whole mess will never, ever consider becoming your customer.

Since I replied on 2/2, I have received no more e-mail correspondence. I have, though, received 3 more phone calls informing me that DishNetwork has important information about my account.
