I purchased an alarm system for my grandmother's home in June. I did it order her feel a little more secure being that she lived alone. The first guy came out to install the system and he installed it partially and not at all correctly. So two weeks later (because they couldn't send anyone sooner) another technician showed up and had to fix what the first guy messed up.
Around September of the alarm started going off in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. The cops would show up and could not and did not detect any signs of a crime taking place. I had to call ADT several times and they had several technicians come out. NONE of them knew what to do. Two or three of them would only replace the batteries, others blame it on the technicians who came before them. I had finally had enough during Christmas time when the alarm went off at two in the morning. I called their customer service number AGAIN and was informed that no one could come out until January 4th. When the technician got their he informed us that ADT was supposed to have changed the equipment out over a month ago! He was kind enough to call in the have the equipment sent out for next week's delivery.
Now that this system is installed, it still goes off for NO reason and it doesn't work. I called to speak to someone at ADT and got a gentlemen who was quite rude and said that if nothing is showing on the panel of the equipment, then he couldn't help me and gave me a number to call. I called that number and was immediately transferred to the office in Pearl. I spoke to someone there who said that I had to speak to another lady so they transferred me to her. I left her voice message explaining my dilemma and asked for her to call me back. Needless to say she didn't call me back. I called the office in Pearl once more and got the same response.
Today I had enough and I called back to ADT and told them that I wanted to cancel my services. They offered to send another technician out but really what is this guy going to do that the other seven failed to do? She coldly informed me that even though the equipment doesn't work that I'm still under contract with them and it will take over 700 dollars to get out of it? Are you kidding me? I asked her why is it that I should be held responsible for their equipment that doesn't work when I've clearly contacted them several times? I asked to speak to her manager and she informed me that the BEST they could do is have someone call me back. NO ONE has called back.
Please beware of these jerks when choosing security services. The only thing they've done consistently is take their monthly payment each month! THAT is it! They do not care about you or their reputations. They only care about ripping off people with faulty equipment and then trapping you with these stupid contracts!
