Don't buy a Motorola i1000 plus phone unless you enjoy having your calls dropped every minute and a half. Though the phone itself is great, it is proprietary. Once you buy this phone ($250) you must use NEXTEL service or the phone is useless. Because NEXTEL has decided to market wireless service WITHOUT THE PROPER BACKBONE TO SUPPORT IT, calls are dropped constantly. Be prepared for unpleasant billing surprises. I was told that my monthly charges would be $89.95. They are actually $115 per month if I don't go over the minute limit! Oops, they forgot to mention that caller ID, voicemail, call waiting, and text messaging were not included.
Not to even mention that they charged the phone to my credit card, then ALSO billed me.By the time I realized it had been charged to my credit card, I had mailed them a check as well! Nextel's "411" information operators are nothing like those for other wireless companies. They do not connect your call for you (just give you the number) and they won't look up anything but a phone number (won't tell you major cross-streets for a business, for example).
Once you discover how disastrous this service is, you will naturally want to get your money back on the phone and buy a different one. Unfortunately, that is not an option. You will be stuck with a $250 phone that doesn't work!
Buyer beware of nextel!!!
