Active Pest Control did a termite treatment on our home and we paid $150 a year for damage insurance over a five year protection period. At the end of the five years, after we had already made the five agreed upon payments, we were billed again. I think this was an honest mistake, but at the time I received the bill I wasn't sure what was going on and went ahead and paid it till I could find out and decide on who would do the next treatment.
They sent a salesman out to give me an estimate on re-treatment and on the estimate they had listed the overpayment as a credit that would be allowed on the re-treatment. I decided on another company for the next treatment and contacted Active by phone about the overpayment. A young lady noted all the details and had me fax a copy of the estimate showing the credit so that she could get her supervisor to approve the payment. I never heard back from them.
A few weeks later I sent a letter politely detailing the situation again and requested a refund of the overpayment. No Reply. Again, after a few weeks I sent another letter to their home office in Fayetteville explaining the situation and letting them know that I had heard nothing from the McDonough office. No reply.
They tout their customer relationships, but if this is any example I suspect they have a number of unhappy customers. Ask yourself if you want to do business with a company that treats in this manner people who upheld their part of the bargain.
