Was talked into starting service around 6157 by a salesman, Kameron. Said he would give me a FREE system and monitoring service would be $29 per month. Was reluctant to sign up, I didnt want a contract. The guy would not leave, talked 4ever. Told him again I just dont want a contract that i can't cancel. He told me about the 3 day cooling off period. I told him I didn't feel 3 days was enough time to decide. He told me they LIKE TO WORK IT OUT WITH CUST. Who wish to cancel, better then bad exposure. Finally, after hours i gave in which I take responsibility for. I did sign the contract that had somehow morphed into $45. For not having landline or doing autopay. Another rep came in to my house to "help" the salesman get the contract filled out. Also told me to lie to the person on the phone by telling them that I am the homeowner. It just so happened an installer was "in the neighborhood", so he came by and by 11 pm and a 2nd installer they were done. Received & paid bills in July thru Oct. Almost weekly get calls from Pinnacle saying we are delinquent. Finally home when they call 10/19, talked to rep (I think John) who did show the payments in july-oct but said we owe for June. Said we've had the monitoring for 5 mos and we owe for 5 mos or I could deal with collections. Told him I'd rather not have the service at all but I don't want to be charged to cancel. Lectured me about contracts and I shouldn't sign it if I dont want it. Told him sales should't be so aggressive and misleading. He actually told me that its not a salesman job to disclose everything. I told him other services arent so arrogant with me when there is a billing issue and he said thats because they rely on repeat business. I asked, don't you? He said no, that ITS UNLIKELY THAT CUST. Will continue after their contract is over. Do you think as many people would sign up for this contract if they knew that? If not illegal, its unethical.
I suggest any other victims of this company report them tp the BBB as well as GE, since they use GE's logo on their literature and GE should want their name smeared by these parasites.
