I am just another person swindled by Merchant Lynx Services. I was tricked into signing a 48 month lease at $79.99/month with 1st Data Global Leasing. I'm still confused as to how these two companies work together.
My business partner made an appointment with a MLS (Merchant Lynx Services) representative on a day that we could both be there. Jesse Tudor (the MLS representative) called and changed the appointment at the last minute to a day that I was alone in the shop.
I realize now that MLS uses many cleaver tactics to convince the small business owner to sign with their company. Once they have your signature you're stuck.
Jesse lied to me by telling me that I was not in a contract with MLS (in fact I am in a contract that can only be canceled by paying $350). He told me there were no hidden fees... He said the only extra fees were a monthly $5.00 service fee and $0.20 for each transaction... He said nothing about a monthly $10.00 warranty (that covers PAPER for the machine) or about an annual fee of $89.99. The kicker of it all is that he told me that the lease of the equipment could be canceled for $200.00 when in fact it is not cancelable at ALL.
Jesse filled out all of the paperwork and just had me sign where necessary. He didn't give me time to read any of the contract. Didn't leave me a copy of the contract and I still have not received a full copy of the contract/lease. Also, he wrote that I owned 100% of the company when I actually own 50%.
I'm so confused with how to deal with these two companies. I was on the phone all day when I realized MLS was not saving me money. I tried to cancel my lease for the eqipment and found out I couldn't. Then I tried to talk to MLS and see what they could do for me, which was nothing... The girl even admitted that Jesse lied to me. I'm exhausted just thinking of all the ways I've been deceived.
I think it is despicable how this company can get away with such horrible acts of fraudulent behavior.
I've seen my lawyer and I'm currently working on a way to get out of this mess. It doesn't look good though. I feel so taken advantage of and still quite confused.
