Doing business with Dish Network has been one frustrating problem after another. First, there were 3 installation no-shows, then two incidents of Dish arbitrarily changing the installation date without my consent.
Next, my first bill had $107 worth of pay-per-view that I DID NOT order! I am the sole resident of this house, at no time did anyone order these movies... Furthermore, there were several charges for movies like "Garfield 2K" ordered 3 times in one day! Why would a single adult female order children's movies multiple times in a single day?! Especially at $5.00 each with the "automated order fee?"
I'm the only one in this house and I'm absolutely positive I did NOT order these movies. After 2 hours on the phone with various customer reps & ultimately threatening to cancel my service, they basically told me I was lying, but "as a courtesy to the customer, " they would adjust my bill.
When I signed up for the service 3 months ago, I had to repeatedly call Dish Network to correct errors on my account. Despite MULTIPLE calls to reiterate that I only wanted the advertised basic package at $19.95 per month, they randomly decided to subscribe me to "Latino Max" at $51, likely because I have a Hispanic surname. Very thoughtful of you, Dish Network.
After haggling with them to take the pay-per-view fraudulent charges off, now my bill shows an UNAUTHORIZED upgrade to "America's Everything Pack." Plus $15 in extras I NEVER requested. They unilaterally decided to upgrade me, making my grand total monthly payment $92.00!!
They deceptively lured me in with the $19.95 monthly service, then summarily modified my account to squeeze as much money out of me as they could. Every time I speak with customer service they recite the same droning script & essentially tell me I'm lying. They know they have the power to gouge me out of my money, and claim there's nothing they can do to fix it. This is tantamount to extortion.
After threatening to sue for deceptive & unfair trade practices, they quickly passed me on to yet another supervisor. This issue is temporarily rectified, but I'm CERTAIN it's just a matter of time before Dish Network tries to swindle me again.
