After paying for a service contract since 1999 and never using it, I called to have our fitness equipment serviced. It was working and we were using it everyday. Sears repairman said the cables were old and worn and couldn't be adjusted so he would order new cables. After waiting in a second day until 3pm, he came and attempted to put on the new cables. Apparently he ordered the wrong replacement cables. He left, with the machine disassembled and unable to be used. He said he would have to order the right cable and would come back. The repair service when I complained stated that they had us scheduled for Nov, 24, two weeks with the equipment not useable. Every attempt to get the problem resolved was unsuccessful. Sears customer service wouldn't help or wouldn't give me a supervisor. Sears would drop my service immediately if I didn't pay for the Service Contract but they can disable the equipment and take no responsibility. Be ware if you purchase a Sears Service Plan it really is a Sears "Dis-Service" Plan.
