Overdue payment for loan signing where I acted as the Notary Signing Agent.
California Notary (CNI) has failed to remit payment for loan signing where I acted as the Notary Signing Agent. This signing took place on 06/22. CNI claims that they pay invoices 30 - 45 days out, but we are fast approaching the 90 day mark.
I complied with all requirements, including but not limited to receiving loan docs via email, printing 2 copies at my cost, contacting borrower, faxing required pages to CNI after signing was complete (again at my cost), FedExing docs to appropriate party, etc.
Assignment was completed successfully with no complaint from CNI.invoice was faxed immediately to CNI upon completion of assignment, again on 07/23,07/31,08/06/06,08/09/06,08/28/06 and 09/12/06. No response from CNI has been received regarding this outstanding invoice.
CNI also does not abide by its OWN CONTRACT. Part 2 of their Terms of Accepting an Assignment in part reads "California Notary Inc will take full responsibility for follow-up payment of any outstanding invoices."
To me this means that even if the loan company doesn't pay CNI, CNI is still responsible in paying the Notary Public.
