I have beentrying to discontinue a service that I did not sign up for, and have been trying to cancel since. Here is a timeline of events:
April 16 I was using the web-site DailyFreebies.com, which is where Privacy Plus Voice Mail cookies captured my information without my authorization or knowledge.
April 17 Received a message on my home phone that I was signed up for Privacy Plus Voice Mail service. I called immediately (April 17) to cancel, and was told that I would be canceled. I told the representative that my information was captured without my consent, and I was told by her what do you expect scanning free web-sites.
May 12 Received another message from Privacy Plus Voice Mail that a second month of billing was beginning. I again called and spoke to customer service representative Kim. I told her about the message, about my calling last month to cancel, and she told me that I was indeed canceled. I told her again that I had no contract with Privacy Plus, and that they do not have my signature on any contract. Kim told me that we don't need your signature. I told her that if this harassment continues with the phone calls from Privacy Plus about a service I have now tried to cancel twice, that I was contacting Better Business Bureau.
May 13 Received my monthly Qwest billing and it shows Privacy Plus billing me on April 20, well after my first phone call to cancel.
I don't know what I have to do to stop service. Every time I call, I am told that it is canceled, yet I received a bill.
