Over a month ago I sent three payment via paypal to a seller named DESIGNERDREAMZ (designerdreamz.com) for 53 2gb ipods and 35 4gb ipods. I used paypal thinking I would be covered.
After begging the seller for my tracking number, days later I received two tracking numbers and received two boxes over a week later. (Note that the seller used paypal shipping labels through paypal - USPS shipping method).
I opened up the boxes and saw them stuffed with newspaper and one had 4 ipods and the other had 5 ipods... So this shipment of 53 ipods turned into 9 ipods and a box full of newspaper.
I contacted the seller and she assured me that it was just a mistake and I would receive refunds for all of my purchases and I would then send back the 9 ipods.
After a month later I received two refunds for the other transactions of which she never shipped out. The other transaction paypal sided with the seller because she used Paypal's preferred shipping method: USPS throiugh paypals system to print the labels.
I sent emails fromthe seller admitting that she only sent 9, I sent recorderd converstaions that she admitted she only sent 9 and Paypal still sided with the scammer!
Paypal allows shippers to use USPS and even encourages it, when buyers cannot inspect packages before they sign - so you have to sign and by then its too late!
Now, I am still fighting for my $6615, fighting with paypal, but ever since I mentioned a lawsuit - they won't help me...
Some think I should write it off as a loss for my company, but this is about principle! Whether I win or lose, I will sue paypal and this seller. I'm not claiming I will win millions by any means, but I want Paypal to acknoledge this error. They have had noproblems taking 3% of my money over the past 3 years and about 300 verified transactions later... They completely ignore credible proof I have been scammed because they dont want to admit they have a problemin their system!
If anyone else has has this sameissue with paypal or designerdreamz please contact me to join in a lawsuit. The more people that stand up to a big company like Paypal the better chances we have at being heard.
