I incurred a ticket for $50 in Washington DC and employed ParkingTicket.com to help me protest the ticket. ParkingTicket.com charges half of the ticket cost ($25 in this case) for its services.
Unfortunately or deliberately, ParkingTicket.com had the ticket code in its database listed as a $100 ticket instead of a $50 ticket. I informed them of their mistake, but they said to ignore it. They said to pay $50 (half of the $100) for their service, and they will reimburse me for the $25 once they process the ticket protest letter.
Within 24-48 hours, they sent me a protest letter to use for fighting my ticket, but no word on reimbursing me the $25. I then sent them an e-mail complaining that they had not reimbursed me. I received a response that they would forward my e-mail along to account services.
After several e-mails complaining that they had overcharged me, I still received no response.in the end, I should have just paid the $50 ticket and saved myself the hassle of getting ripped off from ParkingTicket.com.
I would highly recommend not using their services. Additionally, the protest letters that they provide do a poor job of getting you off the ticket. ParkingTicket.com claims a high success rate, but what they tell you and what actually happenss are two different things. Stay away from ParkingTicket.com. It's cheaper to write your own response and the odds of getting off the ticket are probably the same.
